My Approach
Sex Therapy
Most sexual concerns can be treated! I am a sex positive, kink aware therapist that welcomes all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures. I strive to create a safe environment for the exploration of your concerns. I believe that therapist and client are partners in the therapeutic process. I take a holistic and systemic approach to sex therapy and the treatment of sexual dysfunction. The connection between the mind and body is an important aspect in sexual health. When necessary, I will collaborate with your medical doctor, physical therapist, or other providers to maximize your treatment outcomes. Physical and mental health issues should be approached, but just as important, is gathering an understanding of how the client feels about their bodies, sex history, abuse, and past traumas. Treatment needs to be uniquely tailored to each individual client so their specific concerns can be managed. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I consider the impact of your relationships, past and present, on the issues you face. When doing therapy with me, we may discuss how your family of origin, traumatic events, relationships, religion, society, culture, and how the media has contributed to sexuality. I provide education, resources, and assist my clients in developing skills that get them closer to reaching their goals. I find joy in seeing the transformation in my clients as they move into personal, sexual, and relational wellness.
